A catch-all mailbox receives email messages sent to inactive email addresses under the exact same domain name. For instance, an email sent to the mistyped [email protected] will be delivered to [email protected] in case the catch-all feature has been enabled for the latter. In this way, you can receive email messages from friends or clients who may have sent a message to your email address with a spelling mistake or to an obsolete one, which they may still have, but you have already deleted. Only one single mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be activated for such a mailbox. This is so because of the fact that at a certain point you may start receiving spam emails in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding limitation implies that the spam will not be received in a 3rd-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Shared Hosting

You will be able to set up a catch-all e-mailbox without effort in case you have a shared hosting plan with our company. The Email Manager tool in our in-house developed Hepsia hosting Control Panel is feature-loaded, yet incredibly easy to use, and it will allow you to activate different features, including the catch-all one, with no more than a couple of clicks. All the mailboxes that you have will be enumerated in alphabetical order in this section and on the right side of each one of them you’ll see a mini "Catch-all" icon. Clicking it once will activate this feature, clicking it once again will deactivate it. Since you can have only one such catch-all mailbox per domain name, our system will inform you if you’ve already got another mailbox with this option activated or if you’ve got enabled email forwarding.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting

The catch-all option can be activated without effort if you have a semi-dedicated server plan with us. All the email addresses that you’ve set up using the domains hosted in the semi-dedicated account will be listed in the Hepsia hosting Control Panel’s Email Manager section and you’ll find a small symbol handily located right next to each of them. With just one single click, you can enable or disable the catch-all option for any mailbox of your desire as long as there isn't another mailbox under that same domain name with the option already enabled and there isn't enabled email forwarding. Alternatively, you can right-click on an email address and activate this option through the context menu that will come into view. If any of the preconditions for setting up a catch-all mailbox is not matched, our system will notify you, but will not replace or deactivate anything automatically.
